Thinking Home 2 has been rebuilt from the ground up to support more than 140 models of controllers and devices. As new controllers and devices become available, look for updates to support those gadgets. The communications have been upgraded to be faster than ever and extremely helpful when it comes to troubleshooting.

Getting started has never been easier. Using Thinking Home 2, you can import your devices and other information from Thinking Home 1 and from other applications, like Indigo. The new Setup Assistant guides you through import and more involved procedures like INSTEON linking. If Thinking Home needs to install anything, it’ll do it for you, with your permission of course.

While the new version stores all the schedules as before, it is now better equipped to run 24/7. This is useful for things that only the Mac can do, things that cannot be stored in a controller, such as email and AppleScript.

Thinking Home 2 has the point & click ease-of-use you’d expect, plus it has outstanding scripting built-in. Not just AppleScript, but several languages, like Perl, Python, shell scripts and others. It is well-suited for both the beginner and for the expert.

Enabling the web server feature is easy: just select the checkbox in the Preferences window.
